Are you a good witch or a bad witch?

When Lala was three she wanted to be a witch for Halloween, and she wanted to be a pretty one. Baubi told her that there was no such thing as a pretty witch. I quickly chimed in with "Oh yes there is, her name is Glynda"

This is the most detailed and crazy thing I have ever made. I loved it.

When I was making it, I couldn't find the right appliques. In an act of desperation I made them. Two butterflies, two flowers, and 14 stars. 10 -15 yards of sequins, and who knows how many rhinestones later I was done.

When it came to her crown I took a piece of organza to the copy store and had them laminate it. Then cut out the shape and glued the glitter and rhinestones on.

I love it so much that I am not quite ready to part with it, sorry it is still going to be hanging in my closet for a few more years.

If you would like to win the Wicked Witch of the West you can leave me comment here. I won't make you go back and enter on yesterday's post. If you were iffy on being my friend, I hope you will think about it some more and add me now. You might even win.

See you tomorrow with the last witch from Oz.

  2. I'm a good witch, thanks for asking!

But you know the sign on my bedroom door says: Don't make me call out the Flying Monkeys ;)

I love that costume. And both Maddie and Pearl have made darling Glinda's. I should dig deep in the archives and find the photos of them both. Such cuties.

Keep up the crazy sewing, friend.

    Love

  3. This costume is wonderful! I made the Mombi dress last year and it was a nightmare to make so I totally understand your applique problem. But the result us great, and she looks so cute in it. Well done!
